What You Cannot Evaluate
There are several things instructors should not overclaim after a short pilot or a single demo.
Things a short evaluation does not prove
- long-term operational stability for your course at full scale
- suitability for every assignment type
- perfect equivalence to unrestricted local development
- how the platform behaves under every peak load or exam scenario
- whether all student preferences will be satisfied
Common evaluation mistakes
- assuming one successful demo means the course is migration-ready
- judging the platform only on visual polish rather than workflow fit
- treating a browser IDE as a drop-in replacement for every local workflow
- ignoring organizational dependencies such as support, deployment ownership, and rollout timing
Honest framing
An evaluation can show that EduIDE is promising for a course. It usually cannot prove that every edge case is solved. Instructors should evaluate course fit and operational readiness separately.
